Friendship House Café Community Dinner Service
Rotarians volunteer at the Friendship House Café in Mount Vernon to help serve dinner to community members who rely on this vital daily meal program. A no-cost daily meal service in Skagit County, Friendship House provides a nutritious, hot meal every day of the year to anyone experiencing hunger or food insecurity.
Volunteers arrive by 5:00 PM to assist with meal preparation, serving, and hospitality. Dinner service typically runs until around 7:00 PM, offering Rotarians an opportunity to serve while connecting directly with members of our community.
Friendship House serves thousands of meals each month and strives to nourish not only bodies but also spirits—ensuring every guest is welcomed with compassion, dignity, and respect. In addition to dinner service, guests may access a small carry-out pantry with canned goods to help meet ongoing nutritional needs.
This hands-on service project reflects Rotary’s commitment to addressing food insecurity, strengthening community connections, and supporting neighbors in need through meaningful action.
